Episode 34 – All of the Conventions

“Back once again for the renegade master, d4 damager, power to the people!” – Wildchild – Renegade Master (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eJR_dX8i0ww)

In this episode, we are missing John (Yet again, maybe forever?), but Paul is now part of the main cast. So that is exciting! Also we have 1d4Con’s two best non-staff supporters joining us: Marian and David. We recorded with Google Hangouts “On Air”. The sound quality is again just okay, but it is the easiest way to record everyone. I used Auphonic.com to level the audio again before cleaning up the long pauses. Otherwise this episode is unedited.

[BIG ANNOUNCEMENT]:

We are switching webhosts and with all of the other and blogs and podcasts on dvd20.org either stalled or faded, we are letting it expire. Sometime soon dvd20.org will be gone and in the ashes, 1d4cast will live on as 1d4cast.org and probably continue to look familiar. 1d4con.com will continue to exist as well, but will be getting a facelift.

As for a Podcast family, I have talked with Erik From Metagamers Anonymous about joining their network, Prismatic Tsunami and he is welcoming us in!

We talk a lot about various convention experiences while asking Marian some GenCon-related questions, read an email from a listener, and talk about TsunamiCon’s Kickstarter.

The episode’s main topic is about RPG Conventions. We define what conventions are. We also discuss what their importance to the community is and categorize/compare different types of conventions. Several of us give Con Reports to for some of the conventions we have been to as an attendee or staff.

We hope that you enjoy the show. Look forward to some giveaways coming soon!

Episode 26 – This is your Fate!

Hello Everyone!

This would have been October’s episode, but we had some major technical issues that prevented us from recording. A busy schedule kept me from attending this make up episode.

Thank you Zac, for another letter. We appreciate that you take the time to write in and are happy to read it in our episode!

We bring on Katie and Henry as official 1d4casters. This allows us more schedule flexibility if one or more people can’t make it to a recording. Also, we are planning to go back to our roots and do more System review shows. Hoping to do a review show every other month or every third month.

This episode focuses on Fate Core & Fate Accelerated. Almost all of us have had some experience with the Fate system. We discuss the rules and mechanics of Fate, the differences between Fate Core and Accelerated, a ton of setting and resource options (although not comprehensive in any way), as well as our impressions of the two systems.

Are you Fate-curious or just want to take your game to the next level? Have a listen to our fair review and discussion. We hope that you enjoy the show.

If you have any comments, feedback, system you want us to talk about, or even a topic you want us to discuss; either leave a comment on this episode’s post, send us an email, or use our Contact Page! We’d love to hear from you and will read your email on the next episode!
