This episode was recorded on 4/10/2017 using G+ Hangouts and recorded by routing the sound through a mixer and into Audacity. There is a little bit of a quality issue with this episode as there are some weird pops and noises that I was unable to completely remove. We used Levelator to level and normalize the audio before editing in Audacity. This show has been minimally edited to remove a few gaps of silence and fix some quality issues here and there.

Episode 23 – Post-1d4Con 2014 Wrap Up

Hello Everyone!

This is May 2014’s episode. We decided to try out recording from Google Hangouts instead of Mumble this time. Please let us know if you like how this episode sounds compared to previous episodes. We may try Mumble again, especially since Monica got a new mic headset.

Anyway, this month we talk about 1d4Con Past, Present, and Future. We cover how our games went, what ideas worked as well as what didn’t, and some plans for the future! We have our full regular cast along with guests Andy and Henry.

Hope you enjoy!

Episode 22 – Post-Apocalyptic Bullshit Cyber Elves

*WARNING* This podcast is explicit!

Hello Everyone!

Let me first apologize for the tardiness of this episode. It was recorded for February and was supposed to be out last week. With 1d4Con’s Pre-registration opening last Saturday and all the stuff that needed to be done, I just couldn’t make the time until now.

Now, I present to you our episode about Indie Games. More specifically, the rise and relevance of such games. This is the first episode since September that we’ve have the full cast on. I was able to make it back, despite having my Wisdom teeth pulled recently. There is some discussion about 1d4Con and other conventions and we read two emails. Once we make it to the topic, we start out with a little history lesson, get into how the movement took off and what was affected by it, and then we talk about our changing personal preferences in accordance with the gaming hobby.

Hope you enjoy!

Episode 21 – More Game For Your Buck!

Hello Everyone! Happy New Year, despite the fact that January is now at it’s end! I had full intention of being on this episode, but I got hit by a nasty stomach virus the day we were to record. Rather than delay, I asked the others to continue without me.

The topic of this episode is Games That Won’t Break Your Wallet. Monica suggested we talk about this after she did a similar panel at a Convention. If we would have had a MAGFest Panel, this would have been the topic. Anyway, the focus is mainly on Free or Low Cost games that don’t require a ton of monetary buy-in. Most of our links are to to PDFs, but we do throw in occasional links to print copies for some games.

The list below is pretty comprehensive, but is in no way complete. So, if you have games you want to tell us about that we missed in this list, a correction about something in the episode, or even a question, let us know. Write us a comment to this post, send us an email, or use our contact form. We’d love to hear from you and will read your replies in the next episode if we can.

Thank you for listening, and enjoy the show!
