Episode 41 – It’s Clobbering Time

This is June 2017’s Episode. This month we talk about our favorite Combat and other Conflict Resolution subsystems within various RPGs.

If you have any comments, feedback, system you want us to talk about, or even a topic you want us to discuss; either leave a comment on this episode’s post, send us an email, or use our Contact Page! You can also post to our Facebook Community and/or Google+ Community You can even leave us feedback on Stitcher Radio, iTunes, or event Google Play Music! We’d love to hear from you and will read your message on the next episode!

This episode was recorded on 6/26/2017 using Mumble and edited in Audacity. Due to a system meltdown after updating to Windows 10 “Creator’s Update”, James’ laptop took a huge dump, so we were unable to record originally on 6/19/2017. Anyway, there is a little bit of a quality issue with some weird pops and noises around Monica’s and Henry’s mics that I was unable to completely remove. We used Levelator to level and normalize the audio after editing in Audacity. This show has been minimally edited to remove a few gaps of silence and fix some quality issues here and there.

Don’t forget to check out our 1d4cast Actual Play Episodes in iTunes, they are on a separate feed. Another Vampire episode has been posted (Session 3) and a Mouse Guard Playtest will be appearing there soon (hopefully).

This episode was recorded on 5/15/2017 using G+ Hangouts and recorded by routing the sound through a mixer and into Audacity. Episode 26 – This is your Fate!

Hello Everyone!

This would have been October’s episode, but we had some major technical issues that prevented us from recording. A busy schedule kept me from attending this make up episode.

Thank you Zac, for another letter. We appreciate that you take the time to write in and are happy to read it in our episode!

We bring on Katie and Henry as official 1d4casters. This allows us more schedule flexibility if one or more people can’t make it to a recording. Also, we are planning to go back to our roots and do more System review shows. Hoping to do a review show every other month or every third month.

This episode focuses on Fate Core & Fate Accelerated. Almost all of us have had some experience with the Fate system. We discuss the rules and mechanics of Fate, the differences between Fate Core and Accelerated, a ton of setting and resource options (although not comprehensive in any way), as well as our impressions of the two systems.

Are you Fate-curious or just want to take your game to the next level? Have a listen to our fair review and discussion. We hope that you enjoy the show.

If you have any comments, feedback, system you want us to talk about, or even a topic you want us to discuss; either leave a comment on this episode’s post, send us an email, or use our Contact Page! We’d love to hear from you and will read your email on the next episode!

A Closer Look At… Skill Use

Here is a new ACLS episode where we tackle how different systems use skills. This is not a comprehensive list of systems, but it is a very diverse one, covering both traditional games and indie games. It’s always interesting to see not only how the use of skills evolve through editions but between games as well.

Also, we have some news to share and we apologize if there is any interruption to the feed.

Have a listen!

Interview with David Hill about Apotheosis Drive X

Okay so this is a late release, it should have been out in March. Been busy with family and 1d4Con stuff. Finally had a chance to get this out for you to hear.

This time we have another interview with the awesome David Hill of Machine Age Productions, but this time we talk about their new kickstarter, Apotheosis Drive X. ADX is new mecha game that uses the Fate Core engin. As with all of Machine Age games there is a morality check built in, as technology advances it raises the morality question of how Humans use it.

David was also kind enough to give us special links to get his products at a discount, look below. Check it out.

Feedback is always appreciated as well :).
